Thanks for sharing this recipe. It looks like a delicious cake, especially
the way you’ve decorated it with the candied circles (and the piped
border).
It came out pretty good! I made 2 of them. The second one I changed the
recipe a bit, because I like REALLY moist cakes. So I replaced the butter
with oil (it prevents the flour from absorbing too much of the moisture).
Then I also added a cup of mayonnaise. Then I baked it at 300 instead of
350, that also helps moisture. And I never bake them till they are brown,
that’s too done… I bake till it springs back and the tooth pick is clean
but its just barely golden… Delicious!

Trying this recipe now,its baking in the oven. Already made the frosting,
and its soft, smooth, creamy and YUMMY! I cant quit sneaking pinky dips of
it, and I usually hate frosting, lol. Can’t wait for the cake to be done,
the batter tasted awesome. But I know I’m gonna be suffering while it
cools, cause its hard to wait, lol. I’ll report back when its done. Smells
good baking. I would also like to try it with cake flour, I’m using
regular now.
Sorry for sending so many and another question can I colour some whipped
cream and then frost instead of butter cream frosting. And thank you for
the great recipes you’ve posted please post more often.

Can i used cake flour
First time viewing your video and what I do is use cake flour instead of
all purpose flour. And I mix the butter and sugar first then add the eggs
one by one after that then I had the milk and cake flour. All purpose flour
tends to make cakes a little hard and it don’t really have the cake taste.
It has just turned 7am and I’m taking my cake out of he oven looks perfect

For some reason my cakes come out crumby. Whenever I cut into it a lot of

I tried this recipe night before last, and it was decent. It tasted amazing
with the frosting on it, but tasted kind of like corn bread without. It’s
VERY crumbly. How would you suggest adjusting to make a little more moist?
I made this tonight for new years. It tastes just like corn bread! ?? I
substituted the butter with half Crisco and half margarine. It tastes like
jiffy corn bread. So weird. :/ I iced it with my home made butter cream
anyway, I hope the kids will eat it. It seems like a lot of work just to
get a tin of cornbread. lol
