Making that effort to cut up all the veggies and stuff, but not making your
own pastasauce… hmm I don’t get it. Same with the powder which goes into
the soup… Why?? Use fres herbs and spices and stuff, much healthier and
better tasting.
Thank you for the tips! Placing the tray of water is a great idea because
my veggies always shrink and end up looking like prunes with cooking spray!

Freelee you’re so awesome
I love your videos thanks for the tips it
comes really handy because i’m a vegetarian thankyou!
I don’t know about this, I wont be quick to dismiss her but to anyone
considering this way of living I’d like to share my story. I ate like this,
for over five years, not knowing about raw/vegan, just concerned about my
weight. I was skinnier than her I’ll admit that, at 5’3 I was 65 pounds.
This is a long story but I hope someone who’s troubled by their weight gets
to read it.
This was basically me 3 years ago. Granted, I was not having nine bananas
as a snack, nor a bowl of pasta that could feed five people but I had as
much of other fruits or vegetables as I wanted to, never ever restricted
portions, just whole groups of foods (dairy, meats, complex carbohydrates).
I had anorexia nervosa but I wasn’t aware of it until I started treatment.
I was in a life threatening situation and it was only when I realized how
frighten I was of gaining weight that I realized how mentally ill I really
was. I was living a half ass life not being able to go anywhere or really
do anything because my diet wouldn’t allow it, I lost most of my friends
and my drive, always had been an A+ student but then, I only cared about my
diet and exercise, I was extremely depressed and the only motivation I had
in life was to go work out. I don’t ever want to back to that hell nor do I
wish it on anyone. When I was forced to eat every single one of the food
groups I panicked and would only have tiny bites, but having tiny little
bites of everything proved to be efficient and I actually lost even more
weight, because from only eating fruits and vegetables my metabolism was
dead stuck, when I started controlling portions while having all types of
food I dropped pounds fast. In a month I lost double of what I had lost in
one year of vegan diet. Of course, in my case that was a terrible thing and
i had to be hospitalized for months and needed actual medical assistance to
gain weight because by then I was putting my life at a really high risk.
Through my sick obsession (reading every book i could find on nutrition)
and hours and hours of therapy and talks to actual doctors, psychiatrists,
endocrinologists and to expert nutritionists, I can say I know what I’m
talking about when it comes to food even if I don’t hold a title. And it’s
very simple you need a bit of everything, I don’t have anything against
vegetarianism nor do I believe in it. But your body does need protein and
fats, however you get them is up to you and will make the difference
between fat or skinny, but you DO need carbohydrates, protein and fat. Each
one of those plays an important, irreplaceable role in your nutrition. Find
a diet you can maintain forever, do you think, honestly, you can live
forever like this? Eating ridiculously big amounts of food and having all
those foods come from the same group? Yes, you need carbs for energy,
that’s why high carb diet makes you feel active and energized, but unless
your burning those copious amounts of calories they’ll be stored in your
body as fat. Fat acids are necessary for your organs and protein is
necessary to keep your muscles strong. I developed bone issues, skin
issues, my skin is still terribly dry, I had dark spots on my hands because
i had kidney problems, my teeth nearly fell out and my hair thin out and I
lost 40% of it, I could not concentrate, I could not sleep. I think this
way of eating more than maybe not healthy for your body isn’t healthy for
your mind.
Fitness is important, maybe you’re obsessed with it, but don’t make your
whole life about food. I felt the need to write this mainly because i feel,
as they say, that the devil is in the details. And while I’m not going to
go so far as to say she’s not as healthy as she claims to be, I do
recognize a great deal of my former terribly ill self in her after watching
many of her videos. I live a healthy life now and I’m finally happy with
myself but at the same time I can go out for dinner now and then and have a
couple of drinks with my friends, and people take that for granted, but
when your entire existence becomes about maintaining a fit body you lose
touch with so many other aspects of life that are as important. I was in a
losing weight train for years and years and I’m surprised I even recovered,
but I wasted some of my best years that could’ve been spent having fun and
learning in the kitchen chopping up fruits, I’d eat two pineapples at once,
huge bowls of salads, i was by no means restricting portions, that’s why I
find this so so scary. And I bet I didn’t work out as much because I was
terrified of gaining muscle so I would just cardio for 3 or 4 hours, which
isn’t that extreme really. And it still managed to ruin my life for years,
I’ve made up for it now, but I’d give anything to have that time back. As
for losing weight, just that, like I said, portion control proved to be 30x
times more efficient than binge eating plants.
I want my teenage years back, i want to have the experiences my friends had
instead of having planned each one of my days around food, my message is
basically this, I’m not in the business of telling you what to eat or not,
I’m not pro or against vegetarianism, but I’m against obsession, having 30
bananas a day, is as mental as having 30 candy bars, you need to build a
healthy relationship with food and that’s more of phycological matter than
actual nutrition. Maybe you’re on a vegan diet and it makes you feel ok,
but maybe you’re little niece asks you to take her for ice cream, would one
scoop of ice cream mess with your head and make you feel like a boneless
piece of shit? if it does, then you got a problem, if you have one scoop
and then feel like you need to have 10, you have a problem, if you feel you
need to go for 5 hour run, then you got a problem, if you throw it up you
got a problem. You need to live your healthy life not being concerned IF
you’ll be able to find something to eat if you go out, or travel. I’ve made
up for my lost time by traveling the world and I could have never
experienced any of it if i hadn’t let go of this crazy obsessions. If
you’re weak, if you’re a perfectionists, seek the help of a professional
before you spiral down a sick road. But take her advice, as mine with a
grain of salt and don’t believe in what any “new studies” of nutrition
claim like is a religion or a cult because they discover new things about
the human body and what it needs constantly. So make yourself happy and
balance your intake without forgetting there’re far more important thins in
life that you can experience than food.
would it be ok to freeze soup to keep for late work nights?
thank’s a lot of food but thanks i have know ideas
that salad looks amazing
huge portion probably could eat it all but I would split it between myself,
my husband and my 4 year old daughter, and we would be good
very healthy but it’s no way I would eat that much pasta in one meal or
soup. I can feed a family of 6 with that meal. :)
mmm, what’s that bouillon powder refined junk food? please… nooo way
carb the fuck up!
boring, why not make a spray marinade with spices and herbs and coconut
oil? I would find that really bland-yes very up for loads of veg though-but
people need incentives!
Thank you Freelee for all this information, it has literally saved my life
:}
How do you get enough protein in your diet?
That veggie soup is so right up my alley! I love making soups with whatever
veggies I happen to have on hand, it’s my favorite way to pack in tons of
veggies at once.
Maybe I’m totally ignorant about this, but isn’t eating tons of carbs not a
good thing? And isn’t the recommended calorie intake like 2500 cals a day?
I can’t really get corn pasta where I live, is it okay to eat RISE NODLES?
that is bullshit, baking them til they are a little more brown is NOT less
healthy. get an education
I love the recipes, but I sense a little trolling with those portion sizes.
LOL i loved it =)
Freelee! Your freaking awesome! thank you for changing my life with all
your amazing information.
Isn’t any type of binge eating bad!!! I mean that is WAY too much food for
any one person in one sitting. Must be very hard on the body…..you are
beautiful and very likable and food looks wonderful, but sorry not buying
it. (your body would reject that much food in one sitting and one would
vomit, over eating is not the answer, clearly)
Making that effort to cut up all the veggies and stuff, but not making your
own pastasauce… hmm I don’t get it. Same with the powder which goes into
the soup… Why?? Use fres herbs and spices and stuff, much healthier and
