The way you color code things makes a lot of sense to me, like I always
think of yellow for the kitchen, blue for bathrooms, brown for bedrooms and
personally i like reds and oranges in the living/ dining rooms. I love your
videos! You remind me of my best friend from high school to a T, even the
way you cup your hands! It’s weird lol. Please keep making the videos!
Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos. You are very natural and
have a lovely voice, You have also give lots of helpful hints re
organizing my own life. Thank you.
Hi Alejandra, Your are an answer to my prayers (seriously) I just loved
your video I have purchased the items you mentioned online and can’t wait
to start saving our favorite recipes in the binders and clearing out my
cookbooks. Thanks so much!
Thanks for sharing your ideal, I love it! I love to use office supplies,
and was looking for a way to start putting recipes that I will use
together. Keep up the good work….
I liked this a lot. I had started a handwritten book several years ago
(just bought one of those journals) but even when I was 100% sure it was a
good recipe, sometimes all of a sudden my husband would say he didn’t like
it. Then I have to put a slash across the page. Plus, I make mistakes
when I write, so it’s not always that neat. You’ve inspired me to go with
this approach and then Goodwill will be happy to have my old recipe books
and my kitchen bookshelf can house pretty kitchen bling! Thanks so much,
Alejandra!
Where did you get those sheet dividers? I am not seeing them on the Office
depot website…This is Exactly how I love to organize my recipes,
especially that i have a lot of recipes pulled from magazines.
Is it an extra wide binder or a small one?
Hi Alejandra. Thanks for posting your ideas. I looked on Officedepot.com
for the sheet protectors that you use (for the 8-1/2×11 printed recipes).
There are a number of Office Depot brand sheet protectors but none
specified the top fold over flaps that yours have. Would you have the item
number of those? Thanks.
I really loved this and made my binder exactly the same way. After a while
of using it though, I decided that the tab system was not actually a good
one for me. I flip around through my recipes often and I might go all over
the binder looking for meal ideas. I discovered that I do not like having
to always flip to the front page to see which tab is for “meats” which is
for “salads” etc. I would much prefer for the category to be on the tab
itself, the front and back. The tabs look great- but they are not very
functional.
Haha, I always think of yellow too when I think of kitchens!
Try eBay they have nicer and cheaper recipe cards!
XD
Hi Alejandra! I just wanted to say that you are my favorite organizing guru
on here. I’m about to be a first time mom and am very passionate about my
day planner but to stay more organized, I’d like to know if you carry a day
planner and what you put in it. I need help staying motivated to use mine
so that I’m more organized when baby gets here!
Thank you for telling us that you need the extra wide dividers! I was going
to make my recipe binder, so thankfully I didn’t start doing this yet with
my regular dividers ’cause I’d get so mad
This video is just in time. I’m in the middle of sorting through all my
cut-out recipes and had no idea how or where to store the. I will be making
a trip to Office Max (only office supply store in our town) for supplies.
Now I can’t wait to do this project that I was dreading.
good tips, thanks!
Me to! lol
Great tips. Thank you.
I put my dividers inside sheet protectors and cut a slit to let the tab out
with and exacto knife
Hi Kristen. I’m not sure if this is how she separated her recipes, but the
way I am doing it is meat/chicken would would just be single meat recipes,
such as a teriyaki chicken or a steak done a certain way…under main dish
I have things like Lasagna or casseroles, something that is substantial
enough to eat on it’s own. With meat or chicken you usually have something
else with it. It’s not a meal on its own. Not sure if this helps, but
thought I would respond. Cheers!
I love this tip
Thanks!
Thank you so much for sharing this. This is exactly what I’ve ben planning
on doing. Do you have a link or list of these supplies?
Your videos are awesome. I’m always organizing everything and these are
I loved your tea organizer video, I had no idea they made
very helpful.
those until I saw your video. I have to go get me a couple now instead of
using the tea boxes.
thank you so so so much… this really helped me in organizing stuff
This is so much better than what I have been using.
What interesting is that: I know lot of people, including me, We will think
of yellow when we are thinking of kitchen.
