I made this today and I’m eating it right now as we speak. Oh. My. God.
It’s delicious! I forgot to add the vanilla extract and it still tastes so
heavenly!
could you use honey or maple syrup instead of corn syrup?
or replace heavy cream for full fat milk?
I wanted to see the consistency of the interior of the pie. I want a light
pie, not heavy. I don’t like Pecan Pie, because of the heavy overly sweet
taste.
Amazing. Also made this for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it
Hi Stephanie, Can I ask if I could substitute the golden syrup with maple
syrup?
Just made this today. Perfect. Many thanks for the recipe
Why didn’t you blind-bake the pastry? Didn’t you get a soggy bottom?
I love how you bring up alternatives during the lesson. Do you of any less
store dependent syrup recipes? I’d rather not go pick up a can of syrup but
I do buy bulk brown and cane sugar. and have creamy milk in my kitchen all
the time. Perhaps there’s a few more things I could add to have a close
enough syrup? Relying on the store means I have to have this recipe
specific item due to the fact I never buy syrup or need it, but when I do I
just mix up some cheaters syrup.
Excellent! Thank you!
Hi Stephanie, I want to make a chocolate pecan pie for Thanks giving next
weekend.(I’m from Canada too:) I know there’s a chocolate pecan pie recipe
on your site. But I like the ingredients of this recipe so much better. Can
I use this recipe and just add in the cooled melted chocolate before
filling the pie? Also since I already have Lyle’s light corn syrup in my
cupboard can I just use that instead of golden syrup? Will that make the
pie too runny? Thank you.
Hi Stephanie, I love every recipe you make, it turns out excellent every
time. Your very clear at explaining and also I enjoy your channel… its
the best!!! Thanks very much.
i love ur accent, where r u from
From Canada originally.
Going to try this today. Thank you so much for also including metric
conversions for cups. It’s really appreciated because we don’t use cups as
a measurement in the UK!
By cream do you mean milk? What’s heavy cream
Do u no how to make tres la ches cake if im saying that ryt with three milks
How about maple syrup? Thanks for the recipe, looks yummy.
golden syrup looks like honey
Beautiful pie!
Thanks for the metric measurements!
Yes, that could be the reason, as it does firm up as it cools.
There is a powdered egg substitute sold in health food stores. I cannot
remember what it is called, but it worked pretty well in baked things like
cake. Not sure if it would work with this sort of recipe, but it is
certainly worth a try.
yes but not two much a 1/4 cup toasted with the rum would be nice.
I use an induction burner.
Joe is a big fan of this one!!

Isabella
I loooove this recipe! I made this kind of pie this weekend, but i added
some banana slices, it was awesome with pecans!
Looks delish! My mom adds a bit of dark rum too-very good!

please forgive my poor typing skills this morning lol
just made my first pecan pie using this recipe but i added cinnamon and
sliced bananas to the bottom..which rose to the top when finished. hard to
tell if the pie is actually do e i. the center but 30min covered and 45
unco ered should be long enough! I can’t wait til it cools!!
Yes they are the same thing!
Yummy!!
No, but it has the same texture as flour. Cornstarch is a thickener.
Does anyone know the equivalent to corn syrup in the uk? X
omg that looks like heavennn. Im so gonna make this.
I can’t wait to try this recipe. I will be making some pecan pies for
thanksgiving.
try honey! much better.
