  3. cook for your pets it is a good joice but the reason to do that is to avoid carboidrates but just a bit from vegetables (5%)like their ancestral diet;if you add potatoes rice cereal and legumes you mirror the dry food that have a lot of carbs even 70/80 per kg and the result is a very high peak l glicemic index that cause a lot of issue in your pets even in a long term cancer(google glicemic index and find out what i mean )
so the point is try some mounths feed them with just meat eggs with shell a bit of veggy and fruit add omega 3 and a multivit ;avoid carbs is a good joyce even for uman so maybe you can try as well and you will be surprise with your lovers how much helth you have gaind
sorry for my spoken i'm italian.good luck guys

  4. I would get rid of the vet who recommended this diet. Dr Becker and Dr. Mercola both have you tube videos on dietary requirements for dogs. The rice and potatoes are virtually useless, and dogs need more meat in proportion to the vegetables. I don't mean to be too critical, but do some research, if you love your dog. Best wishes.

  5. Please explain why so many carbs. Dogs don't need that and it's not really biologically appropriate. I would do 3 cups of chicken, skip the oatmeal and do cup or a half cup of low glycemic veggies and some fruit? Vets are notorious for knowing very little about nutrition- just like regular docs!Google Dr. Karen Becker, a well known vet who actually knows something about feeding dogs for optimum health. Also, watch The Truth About Pet Cancer, episode 2 for alot of great info. about proper feeding. I hope you are varying your recipes and not just serving this all the time! You are naming alot of possible ingredients here, so how is this 'limited'?

  6. It's missing calcium! I use powdered eggshells that I save, and wash out, then cook in the oven for 20 mins on 200 deg. I powder them in the blender, and use 3/4 tsp. per lb of cooked meat. VERY important for bone and tooth health, and heart health too. And yes, dogs do need small amounts of carbs for energy, especially small energetic breeds like chihuahuas. Great vid! Thanks!

  7. One cooking the meat reduces the nutritional value of it two dogs don't need carbohydrates. Three if it was balanced you wouldn't need a vitamin supplements to make up for the nutritional deficit.
